The former chief investigator for the World Anti-Doping Agency claims that the organizations president dragged his feet on the Russian case, leading to the 11th-hour debate on whether athletes should be allowed to compete in the Olympics. Kurt Abbott Jersey .The International Olympic Committee has decided not to ban the entire Russian federation despite evidence of a state-sponsored doping program. The decision comes in part because there was not enough time to implement changes in light of WADAs July 18 McLaren report that detailed Russias transgressions. In an interview with Pro Publica that was posted on Thursday, former WADA investigator Jack Robertson says that the timing was no accident.WADA handed the IOC that excuse by sitting on the allegations for close to a year, Robertson said. We knew since last August and WADA waited until May to name an independent commission to investigate all Russian sport and the lab. In November, after the first investigation press conference, [Olympic cross-country ski champion and chair of the WADA athletes committee] Beckie Scott demanded that WADA investigate other sports, not just athletics. [WADA president Craig] Reedie said hed take it under advisement, and he blew her off. WADA waited until the 11th hour, only once it was exposed to the public by 60 Minutes and the New York Times, and so the IOC could say there wasnt enough time.WADA issued a statement this week saying that it did not have evidence to launch a commission until after the Times and 60 Minutes stories. Robertson disputes this. How investigations work is that you receive allegations and then you investigate and search for evidence, he told Pro Publica. You dont wait for evidence to magically show up on its own, or in the media. But the truth of the matter is, we did have evidence, because [former head of the Russian anti-doping lab Grigory] Rodchenkov confessed to sample switching in the Moscow laboratory to cover up positive tests of their athletes, to the WADA science director. He promptly made that known to me, and I had him put these admissions into a written statement, for the purpose of the first independent commission. So the independent commission was aware of this during the course of the investigation.Robertson claims that Reedie was more interested in protecting his relationships with Russian athletic leaders than he was in investigating claims of cheating. This claim has been made in other publications over the past few months, but Robertson is now on the record.?I led this investigation, and at no time did Craig Reedie talk to me about this investigation, Robertson said. Ever. Never. Not even to get briefed on it. It is insane. Its the most important investigation in WADAs history, in Olympic history. Even after the first independent commission press conference, when [the chair of WADAs athletes committee] asked him to investigate all sports, he didnt contact me for additional information or evidence.Instead, Robertson said Reedie sent an email to the Russian sports minister saying WADA had no intention of harming their friendship. And then later he wrote a note to Sergey Bubka [a Russian former gold medalist and vice president of IAAF, which governs track and field] to warn him about another doping documentary coming out, and it said, Hope no more damage will be done. To me, these showed his mindset, more committed to preserving his friends reputations than discovering the truth.Robertson has been dealing with throat cancer. WADA said earlier this year that he retired.Let me just say something, I wont go into details about my dismissal; I think it was unfair, but what Im saying here has nothing to do with that, Robertson told Pro Publica. But let me say: I did not retire.?With the Olympics set to begin, many Russian athletes will be allowed to compete. Robertson doesnt believe they are all clean. For Craig Reedie to say he assumes that a large percentage of Russian athletes who will be in Rio are clean, hes talking out of his rear end, Robertson said. The whole ruse of clean Russian athletes is a farce. The investigation showed that to be on the national team, at least for athletics (track and field), you were required to dope. Miguel Rojas Jersey . Its sharpness matched my mind. This was no night to go to sleep. Josh Booty Jersey . Michell Burger, a woman who lives on an estate next to Pistorius gated community, said she and her husband were awoken by the screams in the pre-dawn hours of Feb. 14 last year, when Pistorius killed Reeva Steenkamp by shooting four times through a door in his bathroom. https:///...-jersey-marlins.html . Isner, ranked No. 14, won his eighth career singles title and took the title in New Zealand for the second time after his victory in 2010. The match was similar to Isners quarterfinal victory over fifth-seeded Philipp Kohlschreiber which went to three sets, all tiebreaks and contained no breaks of serve. PHOENIX -- The home losses keep piling up for the Arizona Diamondbacks, and they will soon find themselves alone in the cellar in the NL West if they cant figure out a way to beat the San Diego Padres.Derek Norris drove in three runs with a home run and a double before leaving with an injury and the Padres beat the Diamondbacks 8-4 on Monday night. The Diamondbacks led twice but couldnt hold it.We are just not playing winning baseball right now, Arizona manager Chip Hale said. That is what it boils down to.With Zack Greinke hurt, Archie Bradley (3-4) started and had another uneven performance. He struck out seven, walked three and gave up two home runs.Frustrating again, Bradley said. I have good innings then really bad innings. I need to put a complete game together. With Arizonas loss, the Diamondbacks and Padres are in a virtual tie for last in the NL West. The Padres Yangervis Solarte added a two-run homer and Luis Perdomo (3-3) pitched six solid innings to get the victory. The 23-year-old right-hander, in his sixth start, allowed three runs on nine hits, striking out five with no walks. He pitched to one batter in the seventh.Norris, the teams catcher, left in the eighth inning when he was struck in the arm by a bat on the follow-through by hitter Brandon Drury.I think hes going to be fine, Green said. Hes going to get an x-ray to check just to make sure that everythings good. It caught him on that nerve, the funnybone. He just couldnt get feeling back.Norris two-run homer off in the sixth put the Padres up for good. Bradley, starting in place of injured Zack Greinke, went six innings, giving up five runs on six hits as Arizona fell to 14-31 at home, second-worst in the National League.Solarte homered for the third time at Chase Field this season. The balls go out here, he said. Its not necessarily my focus. Im just trying to make good contact. I know I can hit balls out, but thats not what Im trying to do. Im trying to square balls up and thankfully the balls havve been going out. Ryne Stanek Jersey. Jake Lamb had an RBI triple and Paul Goldschmidt a run-scoring double for the Diamondbacks, who fell into a virtual tie with the Padres for last place in the NL West.Norris, 1 for 13 in San Diegos just-completed homestand, got the green light on a 3-0 pitch and sent it into the left field seats, a two-run homer with two outs in the sixth that gave the Padres their first lead, 5-3. Norris and Ryan Schimpf, batting .132 entering the game, added RBI doubles off reliever Daniel Hudson in San Diegos three-run eighth.Arizona went ahead 3-2 when Lamb poked the ball down the right field line for an RBI triple. The lead didnt last long. Bradley walked Wil Myers to start the sixth, Matt Kemp doubled to deep left-center and it was 3-3 to set up Norris home run.Arizona took a 2-0 lead in the first. One run scored on Goldschmidts double, the other on a throwing error by the third baseman Solarte. He made up for it in the fourth, following Kemps single with a home run into the right field seats to tie it at 2-2.EXPERIMENT OVERThe Peter OBrien experiment is over, at least for now. The team optioned him back to Triple-A Reno on Monday. The big outfielder was tearing up the Pacific Coast League -- batting .356 with 17 homers and 52 RBI. But major league pitching often baffled him, especially the off-speed stuff.OBrien appeared in 21 games with the Diamondbacks, batting .123 with four homers but 25 strikeouts in 60 plate appearances. OBrien struck out with the tying run on third to end Sundays 5-4, 11-inning loss to San Francisco.Shortstop Nick Ahmed was activated from the paternity list and took OBriens roster spot.UP NEXTPadres: Lefty Christian Friedrich (4-3, 3.96 ERA) makes his 10th start of the season.Diamondbacks: RHP Zack Godley (1-0, 4.35) will be called up from Triple-A Reno again to make his second start of the season ' ' '
